Our mission

Mission Statement

SCAN is working and assist the needy and neglected people at grass root level and find access to sustain in the society with due dignity. Therefore SCAN will take all necessary initiatives /measurer towards empowerment and self-determinations of community people enabling them to solve their own socio-economic problems by themselves towards poverty elevation.

To help and develop the distressed, needy, neglected and vulnerable people in Somaliland socially and economically by providing them necessary assistance for sustaining their lives and conditions specially the most under developed segments.

CORE PRINCIPLES

The organization’s focus and methodology is based on a series of values and core principles:

  • All people are equal in dignity and right regardless of gender and race;
  • Ensuring community participation control and ownership;
  • Maximizing the use of local community knowledge and resource;
  • Forging partnerships and networking among all stakeholders;
  • Ensuring cost effective intervention efficiency and sustainability;
  • Ensuring transparency and accountability;
  • All people have to alive in which basic human basic .

GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE

The organization initially started working with the people of 75 villages under 10 of Gebily, Hargeisa, Darasalam, and district. Low income households dominated the area consequently SCAN has grown up with the beneficiaries is well as geographic coverage. During the past few years it has increased its geographic coverage quite significantly with the own initiatives and as well as by the assistance from other diasapora and International agencies.

SCAN its geographical area focus all across Somaliland regions including Marodijeh, Gebiley, Awdal Sahil, Togdher, Sool and Sanaag regions. Registration Authority allowed MOP&D to work everywhere in Somaliland
