Relief and Crisis Recovery

In response to the myriad challenges faced by our community—stemming from the legacy of wars and the impact of natural disasters—SCAN is committed to alleviating suffering and rebuilding lives. Over the past seven years, we have successfully reached 17,000 households across up to 70 villages, addressing the urgent needs of those affected by these crises.

To tackle the immediate challenges our community faces, SCAN has implemented a range of emergency relief projects, including:

  • Food Distribution: We provide essential food supplies to ensure that affected individuals and families can meet their basic nutritional needs.
  • Cash Distribution: Our cash assistance programs empower beneficiaries by giving them the flexibility to purchase essential items that meet their immediate needs.
  • Cash Voucher Projects: We facilitate access to emergency relief and recovery activities through cash vouchers, allowing beneficiaries to select their needs from various local vendors.

Our relief activities primarily focus on:

  • Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs): Individuals and families forced to flee their homes due to conflict or disaster.
  • Vulnerable Groups: This includes women, children, the elderly, and those with disabilities who may face additional barriers in accessing support.
  • Disadvantaged Community Members: People living in marginalized conditions that limit their access to basic resources.

SCAN’s relief efforts are designed with a strong emphasis on gender sensitivity and inclusivity. We recognize the unique challenges faced by different groups within the community, and our programs are tailored to ensure that everyone has access to the support they need. We strive to involve community members in the planning and implementation of our relief activities to foster a sense of ownership and empowerment.
