Growing Hope in Huluuq Village| October 2025
Huluuq Village is sowing the seeds of a sustainable future through the Community Tree Distribution Initiative, launched on October 27, 2025, by SCAN NGO in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). This milestone project marks a bold step toward environmental resilience, food security, and community empowerment.
🍅 24,000 Tomato Tree Seedlings. 12 Households. One Vision.
As part of this climate-smart farming effort, 12 determined households each received 2,000 tomato tree seedlings, selected based on clear criteria such as land access, water availability, and commitment to farming. The initiative aims to turn agricultural challenges into opportunities by:
🌿 Expanding local green cover
🍽️ Enhancing access to nutritious food
💧 Promoting climate-resilient agriculture
💼 Boosting household income
🤝 Strengthening community participation
🌍 Why It Matters
Huluuq Village has long faced persistent agricultural challenges, including poor soil fertility, limited access to quality seedlings, and a lack of practical farming knowledge. This initiative tackles these barriers head-on by:
- Providing improved, high-yield seedlings and hands-on training
- Promoting sustainable, climate-smart agricultural practices
- Restoring local ecosystems and soil health
- Creating pathways to stable, dignified livelihoods
Through these interventions, families are now better equipped to adapt to climate change and secure their food sources for the future.
🤝 Powered by Collaboration
This success was made possible through the collective efforts of SCAN NGO, the Ministry of Agriculture and Development (MoAD), local leaders, and community-based organizations. From nursery preparation and community sensitization meetings to transparent beneficiary selection, every stage of implementation was grounded in trust, participation, and inclusivity.
🎉 A Day to Remember
The official distribution event brought together distinguished guests, including representatives from MoAD and Arabsio, whose presence highlighted the strong alignment between local initiatives and national agricultural priorities. The gathering was a celebration of partnership, resilience, and the power of community-driven change.
