100 knapsack sprayers distributed across Agamsaha, Biyo-Macaan & Huluuq villages — empowering smallholder farmers to fight pests, protect crops & boost yields. 💪🌾

As part of its ongoing commitment to climate-resilient agriculture, the Climate Smart Food System Project has successfully distributed 100 knapsack sprayers across all target villages in the Arabsiyo District of Gabiley Region, including Agamsaha, Biyo-Macaan, and Huluuq.

This initiative, implemented in two phases beginning in June 2025, supports 100 smallholder farmers by equipping them with essential pest management tools and training. The sprayers were distributed with the goal of ensuring long-term usability, safety, and effectiveness during critical crop protection periods.

“It is a great joy for us to have distributed these sprayers,” said a project representative. “They empower farmers to maintain and repair their equipment, while also ensuring safety when spraying their gardens.”

Funded by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and implemented in partnership with the Somaliland Community Action Network (SCAN), the project aims to increase the productivity and resilience of vulnerable farming communities.

Thanks to @WFP & @SCAN for supporting climate-smart agriculture through training, tools & resilience-building.

Healthy farms = stronger communities = food security for all. 🍅🌍
