in the sixth day of registration process on 14 august 2021, the work has started at Gubato, one of the hardest places to live for people with farms, this was the largest place that the locust outbreak has destroyed their crops within days. To address these challenges, WFP Somaliland has adopted a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnected nature of relief, nutrition, resilience, food systems, capacity building and partnership with local non governmental organizations.

SCAN with WFP Somaliland as the donor of the project has implemented a successful registration process of the people of Gubato which will benefit from a 5 month food security program where they mostly will have a WFP card that they will have a money transfer to it so they can buy it from the local food retailers.

200 families has been registered and at the last of August they will have their cards that will facilitate for them the accessibility of getting food every month for 5 months.

Somaliland Community Action Network, would like to thank the people of Gubato and their leaders for continuous support through the days of registering their vulnerable ones for this great program.

SCAN under WFP Somaliland would also like to thank the governance of Darasalaam District for their support during various project that has been implemented at Villages under Daraslaam governance.

As previous projects has been well implemented, projects like water bands, soil erosion tackles and so on, the Gubato people are trying to recover from the locust hit during the time of 2020 and early of 2021. the resilience and economic backup is expecting to occur once again in people of Somaliland specially those who struggled economically and lost their crops, livestock and change their original locations.

SCAN will monitor closely everything that changes within the people of Gubato and how they recover from the obstacles.
